a brand spanking new red corvette pulled up and passed me this morning at ~80mph, i was going ~70, you know, just 5 above the posted speed limit. i usually don't do this, but i shifted into 3rd and we got at it on a connector ramp where it's a long wide curve. well, i got to 90mph and was neck to neck with this chump, knowing i could push my baby some more. then the memory of a very foolish and young mingster sitting in the rear of a CHiP cruiser with hands cuffed behind his back because he was "driving recklessly." came into my mind, so i eased off and let him go.

i've almost forgotten that i've sat in the rear of a police car before, and not as a guest...that was very disturbing to me.

what can i say? i'm a wimp. i know gregstevens would've kicked that chump's ass.

 

You did good! I wish that I had a nickle for every time that I've run a call where someone was trying to 'out-due' someone else. If it weren't for the idiots, I'd be out of a job.

Good move! Brings back memories. I was 18 and raced a guy on my bike down an on-ramp to about 100mph. I blew him away and backed off He came back beside me and started surging the throttle. I thought about it and just shook my head He took off. Image my surprize as I looked in the side-view and saw the cop pull out from behind us and hastily pursue the other guy. He watched the whole thing. I passed by the cop and the other guy on the side of the road, they both looked at me one one Never know when Jonny is watching!

Just about every car I was duking it out with backed down the same time I did. It's one thing to have fun and...
I think I would have done it even if they wouldn't ease off on that throttle.

Actually, it might depends on who's on the other lane....maybe I would be tempted to keep it up if it's that piece of junk from chevy.
