UPS just delivered an ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate and Street Disc and let me tell you it is SCARY to see just how little our clutches are.
8.5 inch disc with a 1.25 inch contact ring around the outside. You would think it was for a go cart.
There will be no 6,000 rpm dumping now that I've had a face to face with this toy, and the nicest 500 mile break in ever performed.
Anyone else seen our little cluthes up close and personal?

Yep. I received my ACT Clutch/Pressure plate last week too. There are several posts in the Tales From The HOOD section with nice pics.

Wes, Hecash and several others have already installed the ACT setup. Mine goes in next week.

How does the new clutch compare in day to day driving? Any problems in heavy stop and go traffic?

So the clutch is a big improvement even on non-SC S2s?

The ACT Heavy Duty Pressur Plate alone boasts a 44% increase over stock. That, coupled with a disk surface blended with copper particles should definately improve the grip.
Anxious to install but I must wait 3 weeks until the arrival of a lightened flywheel.

Dumb question: Why does that site say that you need a lightened flywheel to go with the pressure plate and disk? What does the flywheel have to do with the clutch?

You don't need a lightened flywheel for the clutch although it will be easier for either clutch to turn.
I need the lightened flywheel so I don't have to pay double labor to access the same thing twice.
