Acura vs. S2000
Folks let me talk now. I own both. The CL Type S is hot and does not come in an 6 speed-- Manumatic only. The S2K is quicker and pulls like hell. The CL does well indeed but will not hang with the S2K after 75 MPH. I've had my CL to 137 and other than some wind buffeting coming through the CLOSED sunroof, it was solid and stable. The Boxster pulled away around 115, was caught at 125 and was left behind at 135- chicken I guess. Coincidentally I was headed to the Acura dealer for an oil change. They enjoyed my tale.
Summary- S2K is quicker, handles better, and is more fun. CL Type S- more luxurious, stealthier, and still fun- even for us grown ups.

Hell a good stick driver in his new 3.2 is gonna get like 14.2 in the quarter,,now remember hes gonna have alot more torque so if you come out the hole shitty he will take you and you will definetly have to play catch up ,,top end our will catch them if you dont get caught behind to long..
same with a s4 ,,alot more torque but if you launch the s quick you will win by a few car lengths..i did..

I drove the 2003 CL Type S 6-speed this weekend, and I was very disappointed. I actually did not like the car at all. First, it's huge. Like a big old Monte Carlo, or some other domestic two-door land-yacht, for the 21st century. Second, it didn't seem all that fast. Granted, it was raining, so I didn't push it all that hard, but I feel like my S is noticeably faster even at part throttle speeds. Third, although I've read great things about its shifter, I didn't think it was anything special. Admittedly, my S has spoiled me in this dept., but I thought CL's shifter was fairly imprecise and did not have a very good overall feel. I also thought the interior had some cheap details (much more so than my 2002 S). So, although the CL now has a manual tranny with a limited-slip-diff, I still don't think that it offers any real competition for the 330Ci, even with the cheaper sticker. The 330Ci is still the king of the $30-40K sport coupe class by a comfortable margin, in my opinion.

hey guys,
i love the s2k...i really wanted one bad when they first came out....but at 6'2" 240...really was a squeeze..i now have the cl-S with a few mods... and well its the perfect car for me...very fast 9.344 is my best 1/8th to date ,but im heading towards 9.1 quickly...this car is a real sleeper...one of my first problems with exploiting my cars performance was rubber, I suspect many of you could use a good upgrade there. the day i did my run at the 1/8 th i went with my friend, who was working on a yellow S2K, with veil side kit, comptech S/C ,and a 70 shot of the good stuff....anyway...he found out quick the clutch was shot...although he did mange one 8.6, which i think was great...we raced the last race of the night... both had passengers, i managed a 9.5 something ,he ran me down the last 1/3 or so and pulled of a 9.2 ....loads of fun ill tell you...the s2 is a real looker, but ,i would think people would expect some quickness from you...i like the CLeepR approach ...many a GT has had a new ass handed to 'em and, when im done, its the firehawk and z28 i hope to compete with ,all motor no nos ,no FI...anyone local to me wanna hook up, or go over to one of the tracks id love it....come by www.acura-cl.com for any info you guys want or just to hang out...we're all brothers (and sisters as the case may be) SSL
