You got me, Trent. The real reason why I don't VTEC my S2000 is because I want the motor to last as many miles as possible. I figure more rpm = more wear = less life, so the less I dog it, the longer it will last me. Sometimes on the freeway if I'm cruising and it's pretty empty and straight, I'll put it in neutral, kill the motor, then let it coast until I slow to about 45mph. Then, I'll fire it up again and get back up to speed. Then repeat.

you mean you dont shut it off after neutral to save gas and engine life? what kind of sick person are you, you must conserve as much as possible. I myself try to avoid going up hill, always look for the down hill way to my locations so that i can roll the car. needles to say my rims have zero brake dust.

Well, the last time I shut it off after neutral, I lost my power brakes and parked my car in the trunk of a Cadillac Eldorado. It was sitting stopped at the red traffic light. Needless to say, the old man wasn't very happy.

I learned my lesson.

Now, I only shut off the motor on the freeway.

I made a thread about it awhile back but didn't get any legitimate replies. Nobody took me seriously, for some reason.
