Sound... A little power...

Take off your airbox lid and drive around... It'll be louder than that...

PM me, my barely used AEM V2 is for sale.

Just a smidge of power, mostly a great sound, at V-Tec it will drown out your exhaust noise. Be careful though, I hydrolocked my motor back in 2003 with a AEM. Honda replaced it under warranty but I was lucky, I re-enstalled it but only after cutting it back so there was no threat of me hydrolocking it again.

^ ... with his Invidia I don't think he will have to worry about the V2 drowning out the exhuast. I use to have an aem V2, the sound is deep, sounds really good from 4k up, but what I thought was strange was that it made no type of 'whistling' sound like CAI's usually do. I'm sure that it has minimal gains, maybe around 3whp, but it sounds really nice.

IMO, the stock intake is too restrictive (7 sq. in. cross section at the horn's entrance to airbox) and draws air that is too hot (right above the radiator and sealed in the enginge bay) to be optimum. That's why so many of us "fiddle around" with intake mods.

In selecting an intake mod, be sure it's not subject to hydrolock. Also, make sure that the location from which it draws its air is really cooler than stock. the optimum is to draw the air from in front of the radiator or to its side -- and not on top of it (like stock) or behind it (like some so-called CAIs that aren't).

I really don't expect any intake mod to produce much greater max hp or torque, if any. These max numbers happen well into VTEC, where the engine can compensate nicely for what I consider a defectively designed stock intake. Rather, the best you can shoot for is increased power and performance in the low to mid rpm range -- possibly along with better gas mileage in everyday driving. Some of these intakes do produce more engine sound than stock and some (believe it or not) are actually quieter.

Thanks,
Richard

no, oem filter are paper, you can't wash them like those cotton glaze AEM/K&N filter.

you can's blast it with compressed air, nor you want to wash it with gasoline.

the only thing you can do with OE filter is shake it off and vaccum it.

not sure what are you trying to say..pardon me

you can buy K&N version of the OEM filter, which runs about 40-50 bucks, you can just use that, it will fit under the oem airbox without modification of anykind
