i would pay more for the color i want! otherwise you will have these lingering thoughts in your head that money cannot remove.
I will never settle for a color. and 145 miles for a "new" car they had since january sounds like the tester to me.
Imagine all these people gunning it, young kids who don't know how to drive a manual all that well, techs who use it to get some cigarettes..
no deal, even if that car was $25,000 I wouldn't do it.

He's simply taking you out of the market with that price. That's not a price he will honor on that vehicle once you get to the dealership since you are in another state.
The salesman you are dealing with is just giving you such an outrageous price in order to eliminate all others - and when you go to his dealership and attempt to buy said S2000 it will mysteriously have disappeared or it will have been a typo and some other nonesense. He will then try to "bait-and-switch" you while you're at the dealership since you've came so far and attempt to get a more realistic deal.
Just my opinion - coming from the business. If the deal holds true (which I am doubting any dealership will take a -$2000.00 loser on an S2000 regardless of age) - then you need to buy as many as possible at that price.

I did a quick comparison for you, with a few assumptions.
Say you bought the color you want and got it for $31,000 with a 5 year loan at 7%. The difference works out to less than $19 a week...for a brand new (with 15 or so miles),color of YOUR choice (which helps every month when you write that check) rocket ship!

If you're so worried about 150 miles on the odometer see if he'll throw in an extended warranty. I paid $28,000 for my 01 Spa Yellow in January 02. But yellow was my first choice. This dealer had 5 01's and 2 00's at the time. They were willing to sell any of them at that price. But seeing how that was only months after 9/11 all new car sales were extremely soft. I think $27,500 is an awesome price in spite of the color.
