Default Advice/Experience: Springs for the S2K

Hi All --

I'm looking into springs for my S2K, but I don't want to drop it by too much. I really REALLY hate the fender rub maybe cuz I dropped my A4 too much and it rubbed EVERYWHERE -- I guess you could say I have a phobia now...

Anyways, I have 18x8 OZ Superleggeras with 225/40 front (not too sure about the rubber stats) front, and 18x9 255/35 rear.

I'm looking into either the H&R or kg/mm springs. Can anyone advice me as to whether I'm in *great* risk of rubbing with either spring with my setup? Currently, I have approx. 3 finger width clearance between my fender and the rubber...from the 'looks' of things, I can safely drop another inch -- but again, I'm not sure...

Any advice/personal experience would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!!

I think you`d be safe w/ the Eibach`s. Friend has them w/ 18`s and they are fine.

Shamu,

What is the offset on those rear wheels?

I recommend the comptech coil overs.

I have the Comptech Units. I like`em. Adjustable ride height sounds like fun but once you start messing w/ them it can get frustrating really quick

Thanks for the input guys. I'm trying to stay away from coilovers -- looking into just springs. Do you guys know if the stock s2k shocks are stiff enough to prevent rub?

the offset for the rear is approx +50 (54 i think...)

I used the HKS springs and are happy with them. I didn't notice much of a ride difference, and it dropped it about 1.25 inches with the stock shocks. It looks much better now. I'm also pretty sure that Eibach makes the HKS springs so I assume that their pretty similar in design.

1FastS2k -- do you have any problems with fender rubbing? What size rims/tires do you have?
