Down where I live, we have a 1/8 mile drag strip. How does the S's do in the 1/8? This will be my first time going, and I understand the rear end is weak. Any advice on how I should launch, and how I should shift without F*cking my baby up?

 

I'm completely bone stock by the way, what kinda time should I be looking at?

 

i say rev to about 7k and then drop the clutch. i say youll get a real good time . If you wanna go home in your car , i say you launch at anything less than 5k.

BTW if you did a simple search, you would have found that we have discussed how to launch the S properly in about 10-20 threads.

 

rev to between 5000 to 5500 rpms...

 

there's been a lot of debate on this...

I've tried a 4000rpm slip/grip, and it worked alright....
I've tried a 5000rpm drop, and it was good...
I've tried a 6000rpm drop, and it was the best.

I believe in the launch in vtec, no harm done theory.

 

Your time for the 1/8 should be around 9 sec.

I tried 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7 . Higher I launched the better time I got. Best was 6.5 for me

 

6.5 -7 but yeh be careful!!

 

VTEC will only engage after a certain MPH..... 13 MPH IIRC?

launching at 9 grand = still on the small lobes.
