Thanks everyone....

I appreciate the responses. I'll be picking my S2K up Sunday and I'm hoping the weather is good to me - I hear we might get rain...kinda' puts a damper on the drive back.

Can anyone tell me what the "WOT passes" are cdelena mentioned?

A couple of people have asked about getting MSRP in CA. Truth be told, I used priceline.com. I told them the car I wanted and the price I wanted. I received a couple of offers at first, mostly counter offers as no one was willing to give me MSRP. But the guy at priceline really worked for me - I was willing to wait for the best deal. You can choose how far your willing to go for the car and you're under no obligation to purchase it unless it's exactly what you wanted. I make no guarantees, but it really worked well for me. Took about 2 weeks to find a dealer willing to make a deal for Silver/Black at MSRP - I was originally told it could take up to a month. Overall, I was pleased with the service (although I reserve the right to change my mind should anything change before I get back Sunday night).

Thanks again everyone...glad to be on board - I've been scouring the board for information and I know I have a lot to learn on the technical aspects....

I second the recommendation to just take Highway 1 back up. You'll enjoy the sights, the drive is better for the engine and it'll be a great "honeymoon".

Do yourself a favor and stay over night in a B&B halfway up.

Cheers,

Congrats on the purchase.

Have a safe and fun trip. Man, we drove from LA to San Fran once. There was a strip where there seemed to be like 1 million cows (on both sides, if I remember correctly) or so. I never seen so many cows in my life. And I'm from Texas, home of the Cowboys...

Be safe and watch out for dem cows.

Later...
