Advice on potential S2k purchase
FlashPRO can be road-tuned and the tune can be shared among others. You want to try my tune? Just PM me and I'll send it at your risk -- it's fine though.
Car is tuned for road conditions not Cars-and-Coffee max horse power numbers.
To me the smooth power roll on in the 3600-6000 rpm mid range is how the car should have been from new. I don't track fuel use but it's about the same as before the tune. If you buy a pre-2006 car you give up that option and will have to resort to aftermarket electronica and dyno tuning.

With any tuning solution, on a dyno you do not have to focus on max hp cars and coffee yadda yadda yadda. My AP1 tune is just as smooth across the band as that road tuned flashpro tune lol. Works amazing on the street, track and autocross course and has done so for 9 years now. No cars and cofffee max hp tune here
Either way,. even if planning on tuning the car, it is not a reason to shy away on a decent deal on a good earlier model S2k. But the OP is not planning on tuning anyways... so ...

Regarding the sight unseen only photos and videos. I bought my 1998 E36 M3 from Austin Texas knowing the paint was not perfect but decent and was told the suspension was still M3 tight etc etc. The paint was absolute shit when it arrived via transit and the shocks were 100 percent blown and the car bottomed out on the first drive over a dip that no other car I have owned had issue going over. The one positive is that it had zero rust which is what I was wanting to find after dealing with a lot of rust on my 95 M3. I have been restoring it for the last 4 years. Mostly just sitting to be fair but I have spent at least a years worth of time going through and replacing every single thing on the car that was rubber and destroyed by the Texas heat. The paint will be the last thing. Some folks have great luck buying sight unseen but I will never do it again.
