Hey guys, I've been looking for an S2000 for a few weeks. I checked out a car today that I'm interested in but would like advice before I make a decision.

It's a Silver 2001 S2000 with 120,000 miles from a dealership (new car dealer; traded in by an old school teacher). The price is 11,000 OTD (~10K plus tax, fees etc). At this price I can keep my Civic, which is setup for HPDE.

The car looks really good, aside from a couple small hard to see scratches. The clutch engages really high on the pedal, is this normal for the AP1? The brakes felt good, but not as strong as I would like, but I'm also driving around in a 2100 pound civic with GSR brakes at each corner, GSR brake booster and upgrade master cylinder, so I might just have high standards.

I'm aware of the gear popping issue, and the plastic rear window, but at the price I think its worth it... however, I want to know what you guys think. Also, more importantly, what things I should check for at this mileage? I was planning to have a PPI done tomorrow at the Honda dealer and move on it if everything checks out.

Hmm....i dont see anything wrong with it if it checks out ok. Sounds like you are taking the right precautions.

For what its worth, my brake pedal (on both S2k's ive owned) was a little softer than id expect but I think thats just how it is. And.....both of my clutches have released at the top (shallow) end of the throw.
