I was wondering if any S2000 owners who got the AEM CAI could give me some feedback. I am interested in it, but could not find if there was a particular homepage for the product. Also, how is the boost in power, and how good does it sound? Is it a pain to install on your own........
Also, is it a permanent mod. I would like the option of being able to keep everything stock if I went to sell it.
I just installed it over the weekend. My thoughts:
- Wasnt too hard to install, but I had another person helping
- I love the sound at low rpm
- Gets very loud in vtec
- looks great in the engine bay
- buttdyno says there is a little more punch
I swear that there is more torque at low rpms and a bigger VTEC kick, but that doesn't mean that there really is a big difference. Overall, I think it is easily worth the $245.
I wish someone who had done a dyno stock would do a dyno with the AEM so that we could compare. The only dynos I have seen showed big gains, but that car had a header and exhaust (both with stock airbox and with AEM).

We estimate that it is about 10 lbs lighter than stock. But it certainly is lighter - you would have known if you were with us at Dana's installing Ben's ...
It's worth every penny. Before the AEM I raced a gsr hatch. Beat it by 1/2 car. After the AEM (and he installed one on his car too) I gave the gsr hatch a 1/2 car head start and I cleared it by 2 1/2 cars. Not saying that the AEM made that big of a difference, it was cooler out too, but definitel soem of that was from the AEM.
