Default AEM V2 Help for the MY04

Hey guys I just ordered a AEM V2 for a MY04 S2000. Now AEM says that this will work for the 04 but wouldnt recomend it. Does anyone have a V2 on an 04 and how does it work for you? Do you have any problems? How hard is this to install because I am going to be doing it myself and I do have some tech ability but just curious if this install requires any cutting. Also if anyone who has installed this has any shortcuts or any tips to make it easier I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I have the V2 on my 02 and I like it but the installs not easy, that's why I had a performance shop do it for me. That was a mistake because they screwed up the vacuum lines so here's a link to help you with the hose's.
PS AEM instructions suck.

my buddy has a V2 on his MY04 and he did have to cut out the shield on the underside of the car to get it to fit properly ( u dont have to cut it i guess, u can just unscrew it) but anyway he has not had any problems. none as far as fitting, performance, leaks, or hydrolocking and he has had it for about 4 months. so now i want one! lol anyway, goodluck if u decide to go that road

Rob...did they give any specific reasons as to why the would not recommend it for the MY04? I have had mine for almost 6 months now with no problems whatsoever. Fitment was a little difficult, that's all though.

i would guess that AEM said they dont recommend it on 04 is cause of the fitment, if the shield has to be cut or removed thats probably why it is not a fully recommended mod because its not "drop in"
thats my guess....

anyone have pics ?

The V2 is tuned for a pre 04, resonances and other factors maximized for a 9000rpm redline. AEM might come out with another intake for the 2.2L, tuned for 8000rpm redline.

If I were you I would wait. Get one specifically made for your car.
