Aerosol/Solvent Smell In Cockpit + Transmission Heat
Yesterday morning, getting into my S2000, I immediately noticed a strong aerosol/solvent smell -- almost butane-like. With the top down, the smell blew out thoroughly, but was there again fainter when I got back in after work.
The smell was almost as intense as yesterday morning when I went to work today.
No engine light, oil is fine, coolant appears to be fine -- nothing seems to be dripping onto my driveway.
I have not been able to get away from work long enough to roll over to Honda, but I should be able to on Friday afternoon.
Any ideas? A co-worker suggested the AC might be leaking, and so-far, the system still blows as cold as I remember it being.
Also (maybe this should be in its own thread) -- after spirited driving of, say, 10+minutes, there is noticeable heat (warm air) that rises up around the parking brake lever (I rest my hand near the base) -- anyone else notice this?
