Default Over heating problems... =[ HELP!

I bought an 04 s a couple of months back... i was driving it back home which was a 13 hr drive, and then engine light comes on and its the secondary air injector.... which isnt really a big issue? since i had a car that i deleted the secondary air and it worked perfect. Anyways recently it has been overheating and now its doing more and more often.
I will be driving and the bars will start to go up and ill turn the car off for like 3 minutes and ill be back to normal and wont do it for while and sometimes it will do it 30 minutes right after and sometimes not for days. Today i changed the thermostat hoping it will fix it and also put new coolant in it. I turned the car on when i was done and let it run for about 30 mins before i drove it to see if it will over heat and it was fine. 5 minutes down the road and it started to over heat again =[.. I did notice that the heat doesn't work when i turned it on.. and now that i remember my engine light flashed twice when i turned my car on a week ago..

I totally didnt even think to check my car for a new code till now! since im always used to seeing the engine light on. Will check tomorrow am

but any ideas help!

Anyone have any ideas of what it could be?
HELP!

yeah, pull the codes first, check for leaking on cooling system.
try using honda coolant.
while you were driving 13hrs to home, you probably went to gas station a couple times. did you go to any shitty ones by anychance?

Are the fans coming on all the time or sometimes? Might be your fan switch in the lower part of the radiator.

well i run the codes and one said it was the secondary air injector was out and the other ones were cylinder 1 2 3 and 4 misfires and some random misfires as well... i dont know what could cause that.

And the car didnt overheat today after i drove it for and hour or so but the heater still doesn't work and everything is plugged in right and i have no leaks and the fan turns on sometimes like it should after i drive it hard for a bit.

when i drove it for the 13 hours i might of stop at a shitty gas station hah but i always use 93, but i had the car for about 4 months now and i always put 93 at walmart gas station and i never had a problem with it... but i probably shouldn't go there any more?

my car only has 51k so i dont know why its having all this problems!!!!

Your intermittent overheating issue along with no heat from heater makes me ponder these things:

1. Check if your heater valve is opening/closing. Have someone in the car switch from Hot air to Cold and back a few times. The valve is located under the hood near the back on the passenger side. This obviously has nothing to do with the engine overheating, but may be the cause of no hot coolant to heater core.

2. Try bleeding the coolant. There are a few DIY's floating around that show you where both spots are to bleed from and how to do it correctly. This could solve both overheating and no hot coolant to heater core.

3. Are you burning/leaking any oil/coolant? Find the leak. If you're burning coolant it could be head gasket. Are you seeing smoke from tailpipe?

4. I'm sure you're using some variation of water/honda coolant, correct?

For the misfire codes:

1. Does the engine have a rough idle? Is the 'misfire' apparent during acceleration?

If there actually is a misfire, I would start with checking the plugs. Remove them and inspect. Personally, since you got the car used recently, I would just change the plugs with new ones seeing as how plugs are low cost. Could possibly be coils. I've heard stories of multiple coils going out at the same time.

Let us know what you come up with. -Joe

thanks i will check all of this on Saturday since im full of work till then and will let you know the progress!

Also its not leaking any coolant or oil and no smoke from the tailpipe.
and no rough idle or misfire during acceleration either.

if i change the plugs what kind should i get? and also i think i might need a new radiator cap, would any from advanced or places like that be fine?

Could be fans not operating. Plugged radiator. Stuck thermostat. Insufficient coolant.
