Browsing the car magazines in the supermarket yesterday, I noticed a report in Road and Track (or was it C&D?) that King Motorsports are awaiting the arrival of a new fiberglass hardtop from Mugen, which will be cheaper than the Honda hardtop (I think they said $1300 cheaper). Does anyone know if this is fact or fiction?

It's a shame King is selling those hardtops for 25% more than they sell for in Japan.

It's also a shame that Mugen top is so ascetically challenged .

Don't forget the shipping on those tops has to be a big chunk of change!

I didn't realize the Mugen fiberglass hardtop was already available. Damn! I just ordered the Honda HT a week ago!

Thanks for pointing that out Richard and Luder94. (BTW, I presume that [FRP] shown next to the cost means fiberglass construction?)

Really? I didn't know that.

Nah I don't think so, I think they look better than stock. And it is aesthetically if you mean looks. Ascetical has a totally different meaning.

Yeah, the Mugen hardtops outclass the JDM ones any day of the week. As soon as the fiberglass top becomes available, I'm putting my order down.

Hmmm... I guess it doesn't cost any extra to ship something here from Japan. I wonder how much a RHD S2000 is over there? Maybe I could have one shipped in with this new 0-freight policy that Mikey must know about.

I bet you think it adds understeer, also... the looks of the top are a personal preference thing, and I personally prefer it over the bland Honda top. And with a fiberglass option at a lower price it's a way to be 'different' and save some bucks. To each his own, remember that!
