After Snow Storm: S2000 in hibernation
I finished digging out from the worst snow storm since '96 and came to a few very upsetting conclusions:
1. Unless there is a major warm front, this snow is going to be here for months
2. The majority of towns/cities in Northern NJ did a horrible job of plowing/salting the roads
3. Given the poor road conditions (snow, ice and salt) my S will be in the garage a long time
Subsequntly, I may not reach the 600-mile mark on my odometer until March
Happy New Year??

Iceman, I doubt the snow will stick around for more than a few weeks. This is NJ, not Canada. I lived in Ottawa for 1 year and their winter has snow on the ground constantly. I know it's suppose to be cold this week, but all we need is one good rainfall to wash it all away. I am quite sure my S will get some mileage in January, although I have no plans to take it out until all the white stuff is gone.
You guys are not the only ones with too much snow to deal with. I am in Oklahoma. They don't even sell snow tires here because we never get snow.
Well, we have had snow on the ground for 20 days. I haven't even seen my S in a week. It's sitting in my detatched garage with 6 inches of snow and ice covering the ground between me and it. Unless this weather pattern changes we are all in for a long cold winter.

Jake, hasn't the weather in Tulsa been crazy? I was up there for two weeks and just got back to Austin yesterday. I grew up in Tulsa and can't ever remember snow being around for that long. It usually melts in a day or two. I don't have my S2000 yet so I was able to get around in my civic just fine, though I was really bummed that my Dad's M3 had to stay in the garage the whole time I was there. It looks like it's supposed to get warm later this week. Imagine how much fun you'll have with your S2000 after not being able to drive it for so long!!!

O.K., let's do the math. First, put her up on jackstands where the back wheels are free to turn. Make sure the garage is well-vented and start her up. She idles at a little over a grand, so put her in sixth and she'll idle at about 18 mph. In only a little over 33 hours you'll reach the 600 mile mark, not counting a refuel. I'm sure you'll get about 30 mpg or better at that speed. When the thaw comes you'll be ready to VTEC. Pay no attention to your spouse or significant other when your sanity is questioned, ICEMAN.
