Radio Shack sells a clean looking, very slim digital clock with large numerals. I rubbed off the logo using fine sand paper, then attached the clock to the windshield header just above the map lights. It is very unobtrusive. It is not illuminated at night.

Some time ago I remember seeing a rear view mirror which displayed time (+ other info) as a LCD display on the mirrored surface - ie. all you saw was the mirror and the LCD digits - very indeed.

Trouble is, I cant remember where the hell I saw this! - anyone know what I am talking about here

Look through my webpage under Alarm. I have several pics there.

Mine...made from an old Radio Shack clock I used to use for running...Lots of nicks so I sanded the whole thing down. Really puts me at ease to know what time it is when I'm out running errands...Still going to paint it but here it is:

Heh heh...you can tell it's cold because my Muz knob is wearing his little sleeve

What color should the clock be? Red? Flat Black? What type of paint would best match the interior?

You can't beat a nice chronograph watch like a Breitling Chronomat.

Time, Date, plus an accurate stop watch with a speed calculator. Plus, when you get out of the car it comes along with you!

Kind Regards, Chris

Isn't that part of the problem though?

Not exactly an aftermarket clock, but I cleared the radio door to show the head unit. Plexiglass is tinted so that the head unit is not conspicuous when off, but very readable when on.

Awesome!

I thought about that while putting it together...my radio doesn't have a clock though
