I am a new owner, after owning a 2000 corvette I am interested in giving my new baby some giddyup, (more torque, more RWHP), anybody make a turbo for the S2000?

To expand just a little, Speedcraft makes a turbo kit and both Comptech and Vortech make superchargers - might make the search a little easier. If the search is down, PM me and I will see what info I can provide.

BTW, your car will never feel like a Corvette

True the S2000 does not feel like a Corvette, which has plenty of torque, but I feel the S2000 handles the road much better and I like it just as much as the vette, which I lost do to an accident, another vehicle came into my lane and sideswipped me hard enough to bend the frame. But I am just as happy with my S2000 as I was with the vette.

One thing to remember is that gearing gets in there as well as raw torque numbers. Since you didn't specify that your 'Vette was a Z06, I have used the base engine's torque, the stock run-flat tires' diameter and 6-speed gear ratios. Doing the math (simple multiplication and division), we see that the torque applied to the ground (with no losses) by the S is ~75% of that supplied by the 'Vette. This is peak torque, of course, but I'm assuming that the torque curves are somewhat similar in that both are relatively flat. Best acceleration of the S requires dropping the clutch at 6+k RPM so we remain near peak torque in any event.

My favorite page for explaining why you want gearing more than absolute torque is found at http://vettenet.org/torquehp.html . Use the gearing and the 9k RPM redline. Of course, I really wouldn't mind MORE torque but I haven't generally found the S to be a slug.

Thanks Jeff, interesting reading, true the S2000 is certainly not a slug and I am having a great time driving her.

Food for thought. Have you ever played russian roulette? Recent studys show that 35% of all supercharged/turbocharged end up with a KABOOM!!!!! 35%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ever wonder why there is SUCH A HUGE NUMBER OF USED KITS FORSALE?

35%

imo, the cost/benefit to a turbo doesnt make sense for our cars...
just change out the exhaust, put in some good synthetic and you will have extra hp for not much money-
