Default Aftermarket seats

How comfortable/uncomfortable are aftermarket seats compared to the OEM seats?

Personally, I think the OEM provides good lumbar support while providing a certain level of comfort (not much, but tolerable).

I've had my eyes on some Spoon carbon bucket seats, Mugen S1 seats, or the ASM Recaro seats.

It's one of those things only your butt can tell you. Body types and seat types are so varied its really hard to say which is more comfortable. I've sat in some very comfy racing seats before.

So true. I have Mugen S1s and had Spoons. Mugen are by far more comfortable but I want something else now. My Mugen S1 seats may go up for sale soon..
If your young with no back problems then get either Spoon or Mugen if your old like me then comfort is what you want.

Good luck.

ouch...>$2500 for ASM/Recaro SP-JC for the black leather/red stitch seat.

Those Mugen and Spoon seats are looking pretty cheap all of a sudden.

I have no orthopedic spinal complaints to speak of...

Is that for both? Mugen and Spoons are more expensive then if it is, if not then that a lot.

BTW a guy at the Spugen meet had these exact seats. Very nice.

I want aftermarket seats for the "bling" factor but can they withstand the daily grind?

I heard that for the money......they will break down (material/bolsters) and aren't worth spending the $$$.

What's your take?

A perfect fitting bucket seat is 100% better than any adjustable OEM seat that Honda makes. (Recaro's in Japanese market ITR & NSX do not count).

I've driven 15hrs in my bucket seat (in a day) and they are more supportive in long drives than OEM seat ever provided.

One catch... getting in & out of the car can be a bit tricky at firt, but you get used to it and it's fine for daily driving.

Mugen S1 is really comfy. So are higher end MOMO seats.
