I'm getting really tired of seeing these japanese videos on youtube of the CTR or mugen civic. they run a bone stock s2k against these "stock" modded civics. i dont think its really quite a fair comparision. with a little suspension, and an intake, exhaust, and tune, the s2k will kill a civic. on top of the fact, the s2k is basically the same car in the states as what the japanese get, but the civic si isn't even as good as the ctr they have in japan or the UK. does anyone else feel the same? and then you get these FWD fanatics beasting on the s2k. its just not right imo

 

i think its mostly just a bench mark against hondas flagship (10+ year old car) dont get offended take it as a compliment.

 

Magazine racing in general is dumb. But the CTR / Mugen RR is really fast. That's the point. You prove something is fast by showing it beat something that you know is fast.

Don't try to bring mods into the discussion because that can go both ways and is all speculative.

And don't complain that the CTR isn't available in the US because the video was made in Japan by a Japanese series. They don't have to care what we get.

 

Look at it this way, today's Hondas with aftermarket go fast parts are competitive with what Honda built 10 years ago.

 

That's not nearly as bad as when people bitch and moan that we won't get any Type-R or speculate what it would be if we did, or say that we are and all that rumor nonsense.... ugh.

just wish honda would have placed the k20 in the AP2. nice seeing the mugen RR beating the S2K, just hopefuly means the next roadster they will produce (when they decide it is worthwhile) will be even more potent.

 

 

even if they are quicker, i think our cars are still more fun to drive.

 

I think that both cars are highly capable, certainly. But, with all unbiased honesty, the S2000 ultimately is a more capable car/platform/chassis.
