is the crease not centered in the window but rather at the top and/or bottom? This is because of the bars of the softtop. I made my own miata tube like contraption that has a tube with about a foot of material coming off the cylindar. I use that material to protect from those bars and from top of window to bottom of window abrasion. It's the best.

I've has a similar problem with the tube. Small dents on the left and the right of the window cloase to the bottom where the tube was mash between the window and top.

If you don't make sure that it is forward and actually folded in the window it tends to try and roll out of the window if this happens it will creae or dent the window where the top puts pressure on it.

Mines fine now that it's warmed up some.

Hope this help!

By using a terrycloth towel tucked under the top where it overlaps the window on the top and either side, creases can be greatly mitigated. The padding provided by the towel also helps protect against the marks caused by the top framing. I still get a little marking toward the bottom of the window; however, this falls out quickly once the top is raised. I've used the towel for over 15K miles plus the Muz mat for the last few thousand and a soft cloth in the well before that, and I have no permanent problems with the window. A good dose of Plexus applied weekly doesn't hurt, either.

this is what I made instead of using the miata tube. It was easy and it actually got rid of my dings and crease at the bottom of the window. I used black fleece as the fabric. And the best thing is that the tube only rolls into place when lowering the top. It never rolls out. it's great.

I has a Mustang convertible - a FORD...and never had to worry so damn much about the top or the window - sheesh! What crappy planning...and HONDA has come up with no fix of their own for this!? Shame! Shame!

I used a pool "noodle" like that but found that even when I made sure it stayed in place, the top would not retract far enough to put the boot over it. I tried a couple times with no luck.
