I have about 25,000 miles. When should I change an airfilter? (never changed before)

If it looks dirty, go ahead and change it. Actually, 25k miles, go ahead and do it anyway.

I want to know what the typical life cycle is on airfilters...
Like 3000 miles = oil change....
how many miles= change airfilters...

K&N Air filter last you "forever" cause they have a cleaning kit...

According to autorepair.about.com, you should change it every 15,000 miles, give or take depending if you drive on dusty roads.

If you don't mind forking $40-70 for a K&N air filter, get one of those. I have one and I cleaning it was very easy. It also has a lifetime or 100k mile warranty on it.
