Thumbs up All oils changed, car feels sluggish

10W-30 for the engin. As the title says a few days ago i changed the engine, transmission and differential oils at my local Honda dealership.Car has only 9k miles and i have never done that before,so the car fells a little sluggish to me now.Is there any break-in period for the trans and diff oils?Clutch feels also weird, kinda delaying i might say. They used the new MTF oil, which is supposed to be good. Also dealer uses Castrol GTX but instead of recomended 10W-30 by Honda, they used 5W-30.Is that any bad, since i live in Florida and there isnt harsh weather here?
Thaks for any input,

Jeff

Being in Florida I would want 10w-30....thinner oils are used in cooler weather. And there is no break in period for Tranny, Diff, etc, fluids in general for that matter.

That is what I am thinking. Is it possible that they used a friction modifier in it? I am new to the s2000 only owning one for a week and a half. But if it isn't a gear driven lsd or torque sensing type of diff. then maybe they shoudn't use a modifier.

What do you mean by sluggish? Did they change the air filter, adjust the throttle linkage, use any fuel injector cleaner? What did they put in the differential, clutch and brakes? It sounds like they got the tranny fluid right anyways. The 5W30 oil won't hurt your car, even though it's not what is recommended. Did they change the oil filter? Which one? If you choose to use anyone else besides yourself to do the maintenance, you had better ask the right questions. Then verify what they did. Sorry, that's just the way it is with this car.

Hello from a fellow Sarasota S2K owner

Which dealership did you have the work done at? Sun or Honda Cars of Bradenton?

I was also recommended 5w30 oil (when switching to synthetic) by my mechanic because of florida's climate.

There are a bunch of us here in Sarasota, we just need to get our timing right and hook up. Sun has a pretty good group of mechanics. I will get you the name of the better ones if you like. As far as 5w30 goes, you need not worry. Many on the forums actually prefer it over the 10w. If you want to save some $, we can do the swap to synthetic at my house. It is a very easy DIY.
