So do I just walk into Honda and say shove your price im only paying 70 bucks? I dont know how to get them to come down on the price when thats what they quoted.
I called the dealership back and he explained that it is 79 bucks for the alignment and then $39 per wheel on castor and camber? He said the allignement only takes care of the toe. So if I take it to another shop and ask for the alignment am I only getting the toe and not the others?
The cost for an alignment includes castor and camber. Alot of shops make $, since many of today's front wheel drive cars can't have their camber adjusted..
I would strongely urge that you ask around and find a good local alignment shop, and go to them. $50-70 is all you should have to pay. From the questions you're asking, I expect all you want is a stock alignment. Any shop can get this info.
Go to a shop that does alot of alignments, has good equipment, and people who care....

These guys you are dealing with are crooks. My husband wants to know if it a Power Honda dealership? They are the crooks in our area, and anything they own is run to screw the customer.

^ This is the thread I started about getting better mileage on my tires (I had slicks at 5,000 miles) and it ended up being about getting my car aligned properly.
Here is one of the posts I made on the second page:
3rd Alignment done today on Hunter Engineering DSP 400
I kept talking to my service manager about my weird alignment numbers. Today the Hunter Engineering guy, Gabe, who sold the computerized alignment equipment to Robertsons Palmdale Honda, came to help/watch as Alan did the 3rd alignment. My appt. was for 9AM but Gabe wasn't done calibrating the machine until 10:30.
I watched the whole time. Quite a set-up. The car is driven onto a rack that gets raised up. Each wheel gets, a sort of, checker-board attached to it. The machine has a laser do-hikie that pulses onto the checker boards to send continuous camber, caster and toe readings to the computer. As Gabe, would make adjustments on the car, the readings would change on the computer screen. All but the right rear camber "Before" readings were within spec this time. It was -1.2*, with a spec of -1.7* to -1.3*, so it was barely out of spec.
I understand more, now that I got to watch. Trying to get that -1.2* right rear camber reading, more into spec, really took a lot of work. As Alan would adjust for the camber, the toe on the wheel would go way out. Then he'd try to get the toe back to 2.5mm and he'd lose the camber. It took over an hour.
Anyway, I'm happy with my alignment now. The Honda service manager was cool, never giving me any resistance to wanting to watch.
Now, I just hope I get better rear tire mileage!
BTW, this was done on my '01 and the tires are still looking good and have over 12,000 miles on them. Before this alignment I was wearing them out at 5,000 miles.

I dont know why that dealer would add labor to adjust the camber and caster with the toe setting.
I work at Earnhardt Honda.
I just dont feel right about only adjusting the toe, and I never have just set the toe and let it go.
we charge $85. I set the spec.s to european or factory; euro causes faster tire wear. I will use weights to simulate you sitting in the car. This helps to get exact
readings.
To bad you guys aren't from Arizona. I'd tell you to stop by.
Good luck with the alignment!
