Default Allstate "Drivewise" - battery issues?

We have insurance through Allstate. Since I only drive the S2000 about 3000 miles per year it was suggested I could get a discount if i use the Allstate Drivewise unit. It plugs into the diagnostic port. My question is will this drain the battery on my limited use vehicle?
Yeah, i already asked if it can raise my rates for "spirted driving". Answer is no.

You are letting them track you like a dog. If any accident occurs, no matter who is at fault, they will know everything about your car at the moment of interest. Speed, seat belt use, brakes, g forces, etc.
Why do you think attorneys all have the mantra: “No comments”?
You might be happy if you try Hagerty insurance. You will also get the agreed on value in case disaster strikes which is unlikely with Allstate.

On those rare occasions that you drive your s2000 do you drive it like an old man? If so then the drivewise program may save you some money. If you drive even slightly aggressively the program will not save you money. I believe in some states the program can result in raised premiums. Even if they claim it won't who knows how true it is.

Yeah, if you have a good driving record I don't see how these devices can do anything but raise your rates.

If you drive the way they want you to it can absolutely save you money. I used one on a car a rarely drove (pickup truck). Also keep in mind at least in the case with All State you only use it for a few months then send it back...it's not installed indefinitely. They use it to see how you drive, how often you drive and when you drive (and quite possibly other factors).

While I rarely drive the s2k I never elected to use the device on it as when I do drive it I don't want to have to worry about pleasing the device.

Regarding the original inquiry...I had the device installed on the truck that I barely ever drove...never had any issues with the battery.
