Default Altering Our Seats To Stop Theft And Resale

I'm taking a BIG BLACK PERMANENT MARKER and writing my VIN number on the back of my new seats....it's not like you can see the seats backs anyway (well unless you are sitting in the back seat of a Civic with stolen S2K seats in the front!).

Sure, they can always reskin them, but it would be a major deterrant.
Unfortunately, you guys with black seats probably won't be able to use a marker! It would work on red and the blue.

Is there anywhere on the plastic trim I can have the VIN number etched/engraved?

I'm also thinking of putting stickers on my windows that say "SEAT LOCKS INSTALLED" or something like that. Hopefully would-be thiefs will take the time to read the warning (wishful thinking). I guess I'd actually better buy the seat locks too (and not just stickers).

What else can we do make the seats less appealing (other than spilling coffee all over them, ripping them, etc).

Ironically enough- one of the main reasons I bought the car (other than the 9k redline) was because of how comfortable the seats are. VERY IRONIC that they are the source of all my problems now!

Make like a dog and piss all over them... every time you see your car or sit in the seat. That's what my dogs like to do to stuff. Especially when people are watching
