Default Am I crazy? C5 vs. S2000 seeking opinions

I have been milling around looking for a fun sports car to drive. I have a beater so no need to think about trunk space/back seat. That being said, I go through phases where I really like the S2000 (used), and then, I

I'd say purchase the S2000. But so would everyone else on this forum. It's really going to be up to you because the cars are so different. It's like comparing a Harley to a Ninja. They are both motorcycles... but's that's where the similarities end.

I have always loved corvettes, both to look at and drive.

Had great experiences with the C5 and I can honestly say it is the best Corvette design to date.
Very impressed with the changes from the C4 body.

I OWN the S2000.

Guess I made my choice - no regrets either!

That's a tough choice. I currently have a S2000, so if I were changing cars right now, I'd probably get something like a Corvette, just for a change of experience. I'd say to get the car that's less like cars you've owned in the past. Life is short and you've got to take in as many experiences as possible.

Your summary is pretty good. I have owned both, both purchased new, currently have the S2000. I had a 99 coupe, custom ordered with Z51, HUD, 6 manual, etc. If I were buying used, for equal money, I feel the C5 is more car. They are really very different cars. There is something special about the Corvette brotherhood too, you feel like you're driving a legend, not unlike a Harley. The S2000 feels more nimble and racy, and offers topdown fun.

Take $23k in cash, split in half and make a down payment on both, finance the rest. Problem solved, you now have both cars.

The insurance is higher on the C5.

I like C5 but can not afford the insurance.
