Hey guys. I'm not really feelin the amber rear signal lights on my '06. What are my options? I think i'd like to smoke it out in some way like the AP1's, but i havent seen anyone do anything like it. And I definitly dont wanna make it all clear. Any suggestions? Thanks for any replies!

you will have to open the lens up, most likely by sticking in the oven to soften up the glue. no one makes new inserts for taillights, so anything lights with modified colors were most likely tinted using tinting spray. you could use red or smoke.

You can swap AP1 tailights. Here's what AP1 looks like:

Well I like the taillights now, except for the amber part, so I'm not interested in swapping for AP1's. But I will consider tinting it smoke. The amber just doesnt look that great with the Laguna blue in my eyes.

ok. ..

go to michaels arts and crafts store.

buy some Testors transparent candy apple red paint. one can.

buy a small long funnel.

remove your taillights, remove the turnsignal bulb. ..

practice on some paper first to get a good idea of the spray pattern and force the can has.

basically, you want to spray the lense from the bulb hole.. but you have to be very careful not to get runs in the paint, if you do. .simply guide it around by shifting the position of the taillight.

the funnel is so that you can place the funnel in the bulb hole, and spray through the funnel to "fumigate" the paint in there... makes sure you covered everything.

re-coat as necessary to achieve desired red ness.

here's what it looks like.

oh. .and about the taking them apart thing...

the glue is the same as the headlights. .so you can theoretically take them apart..

however, i tried.. and i couldnt find a suitable way to pry them open without almost cracking the lense. ..so i stopped before i did something bad

theres two more pics.

just a fyi too. .if you screw up, it comes off. i used 3m adhesive removed to take mine off recently. i just let it soak in there for a few min, and washed it off with a hose. got water in the taillights, and they condensated, it only lasted 3 days tho. .they're nice and clear now
