AMSOIL in the S2000?
I use AMSOIL at their extended interval, and the car runs amazing with 104k miles. I cracked my oil pan at 89k miles and when i took it off it looked just as clean and shiny as the brand new one. And the engine gets perfect compression numbers.
Amsoil is engineers and scientists designing a product from research while Mobil 1 is nothing more than abunch of idiot administrators selling rebadged oil, mobil 1 is all about marketing not the product IMO

So you tell me what is marketing or not!

Yet, on 7500 mile oil changes your car isn't going to know the difference!

Mobil 1 scared me the most with how much it shears, amsoil didnt shear nearly as easily under stress.
I have used Amsoil since 1980 in all my cars. Never a problem.
My 2001 S2k now has 68K (daily driver) had 10-40, 5-30 and now 0-30.
Zero change in oil consumption (which was about 1 qt every 2k with no racing). I also run Amsoil gear lube and diff oil, great.
I now use the Amsoil EaO (1 yr or 30K) filters and go a full year. Still no problems.
Ditto: 2005 Accord w/55K (once per year) and daughters 2005 Mazda 6 w/130K (once per year) still never need to add oil to either.
Good stuff. However you have to watch cars that sludge up. Quite a few Toyotas come to mind and change the Amsoil more often since sludge will clog the filter.
Amsoil.com web site, if you can find the oil change interval recommendation listing(I think it is on that document) has a list of sludge prone cars. There is a lot of good info on the site.
Good luck.
ps: Getting used to changing oil and filter is a significant mental adjustment and I analysed my oil quite a few times to assure myself. Another thing is you still got to check the oil level as usual. Never know when a leak will pop up.

IMO Amsoil SSO is great if you're extending your OCIs. It's very shear stable and it holds its TBN better than any other oil I have seen. The other Amsoil oils are also excellent oils. They consistently show good UOA results. But if you're not extending your OCI, you're better off saving your money and buying a less expensive oil.
I'm currently going 35,000 miles between oil changes with Amsoil SSO 0W-30, and my oil is still in excellent shape.
