OK, I admit this is not really a performance oriented thread but it's "Under the Hood" nonetheless.

I bought the Comptech Strut Tower Brace in red and now I want to match the rest of my engine bay by either red anodizing or chroming. I know RM Racing has many polished pieces for the engine bay, but if I wanted to anodize or chrome pieces of my engine bay, how much would it cost? I see many cars in the magazines that have a fully chromed engine bay, about how much does this cost?

Another thing, would anodizing or chroming parts like the intake manifold or the throttle body have any negative affects on performance?

This is an asthetic issue and not a technical one. I'm bumping this to Car Talk.

You might want to check out powder coating. There are a lot of things that can be done that way and they do have a bright silver, looks more like aluminum than chrome. My brother in law is in that line of work and he does a lot of valve covers etc. Check in your local phonebook for powercoating if there are none check w/ a local paint supply place and see if they know someone in your area that does it. It might not be what you want but its worth looking into.
