Question Another hole in soft top...

Hey guys, well while doing my modifry straps and office molding top mods in hopes to protect my top, I noticed i actually have a tiny hole already. Its about the size of a pin but am sure it will only get larger.

How can i fix this? i bought the car used so getting a free replacement would not happen due to no warranty. Is there anything short of getting a new top to just seal and stop the spread of small holes in the soft top? some kinda do-it-yourself? any success stores? thanks guys

I've bought strips of velcro at Wal-Mart and then and glued the hook side using black silicone sealant to the inside of the top. Been working for 3 weeks so far.

Where are these wear spots on the top that you guys are referring to? And if so, what, where and how do I get patches to prevent such wear? Would something like duck tape , taped to the underside right on the wear spot work or is a more professional solution?

Duct tape will hold for a day or two. I had the holes in mine patched by a professional. He just used a spray adhesive on some scraps from other black tops like ours and stuck them on. After about an hour they were dry and I was able to put the top down. I had two holes and it cost $20. I have noticed a few spots where the top is getting thin, but I will eventually break down and buy a whole new top so I am okay with patches for now.

Welcome to torn top club .
Get it replaced under the warranty before time runs out!
By the way, I have about 3 inch long hole on my top and i'm still opening my top like there's no tomorrow
My dealer is going to fix it under warranty.

What kind of place would I look for to have the holes in the top patched? I've never heard of a place doing that kind of work.
