Another one bites the dust
After 25 months of S2000 ownership (and about 2 1/2 years of S2000 International membership), my '01 Spa Yellow S2000 is sold--and replaced with a new Corvette Z06. (Hey, with the GM incentives that are available, you try to resist buying a Z06 for less than invoice!)
I haven't posted for awhile, but before I go, I want to say that there is no better enthusiast site than this one, that there is no better (and more helpful) group of members and that there is no higher quality group of vendors and suppliers (especially Muz and A and H Accessories, IMHO).
Keep the revs--and the shiny side--up!

I have one of each and love them both. The 'vette is awesome for it's power and damnit it's cool to cruise. My S, however, is sooooooooo much more fun to drive....especially for my daily driving.
Z06. Big tires, big engine, big deal. I just don't get it, the Corvette has absolutely no appeal to me. Maybe because I used to work at a Chevy dealership and I saw all the broken ones. I also worked at an Acura dealer. Very few broken cars there. To me a car needs to be reliable, first and foremost. If I can't count on it to get me to where I'm going, I don't want to drive it.

Sometimes it's just about personal preferences. I think the 'Vette is a sweet car... but it's not really my style. I like lighter, smaller, more nimble cars (although the Z06 is pretty nimble for its size). I also like high-revving engines.
Some people like torque (and gobs of it). Some people only want to go fast in a straight line. Some people (like my dad) want a car that gets 60+ mpg. Some people want a car that can comfortably seat 5. Some people just want a car because "it looks cool". To each his own. IMO, if you can't appreciate each car for what it is, then you aren't a true automotive enthusiast. It doesn't mean that you have to want one... it just means that you should acknowledge it for what it is, and not knock others for buying it. (I'm not saying that anyone here is knocking anyone else... just stating my opinion).

My wife and I were discussing this option last night. It's a great time to be an enthusiast for sure.
I don't understand how some put down the Vette. bang for the buck, plus dealer incentives, manufacturer support, great following, plus 0-60 in under 4 sec and handling to boot.
Good choice enjoy your ride!
My dad has a 99 vette. Its a ball to drive but very different than the S2000. I prefer the S2000 over the vette for my needs but there is no better bang-for-the-buck than a Corvette. That car is FAST!
