Default Another sad ending to a road race

While we are on the topic of the crash worthiness of the S2000, here is another story on a sad ending to a road race between an S2000 and a BMW X5. I don't understand why people do this.

I can't believe that the BMW faired so much worse than the S2000. Two of the BMW occupants died, and the third is in critical condition, yet the driver of the S2000 flipped it at over 100 mph, and came out okay!

wow, the people in the X5 didn't survive but the S2K driver was only complaining of head and back pains after flipping I didn't think the S was that good in flips.

Racing on public roads is not good, hopefully I'll obstain from the odd speed challenge.

I suspect the people in the BMW did not have seat belts on. The S2k driver I am sure had his on. From the sound of this accident he will face manslaughter charges at a minimum and may well face murder charges since the deaths occured during a crime. Sad all the way around. George

I usually don't read post such as this because they are so horrible.
It only takes a couple of morons a few seconds to drastically change the lives of those around them.
In fact, I don't even visit the "Street Encounter" page because some of the comments made really piss me off

It really tears me up to have to pull the lifeless and mangled bodies of innocent victims out of their cars.

how sad

This is really tragic I found out about it yesterday morning from my father who noticed the wreck on the freeway.

We still have not found out who the driver is and I doubt he is part of our community but I have checked with all the black on black owners that I know and they have all checked in. Looks like they colided after the wop wops section on the 52 and this + speed sent the X5 into the S. Another car was hit when it blew out its tire on the debris but the driver is ok.

This is stupidity on both drivers part but we need to be understanding mistakes happen. This is a big mistake but understand there is a lesson in this. Don't race on the street.

There is no way that any one (other than the ones investigating the accident) can say why the S2000 occupants survived and the X5's didn't. At that kinds of speed the occupants will be at the mercy of the exact condition of the accident. Maybe there was a light poll on the side the X5 went off and soft dirt where the S2000 went off. It is sad and unrespectful that the occupants were even in that situation

If you watch the newscast video, you can see that the S2000 did not role all the way over. It just rolled onto its side. In fact the top was still mostly intact.
