Default Any concerns buying a used 08 S2K with only 9000 miles?

Hi all,

I've missed my S2000 since the day I sold it and am looking to get back into another one. I have my eye on an 08 with only 9000 miles but I'm a little concerned since that averages out to only about 2250 miles per year, or about 188 miles per month. On the one hand it sounds great and I'd love to have that, but on the flip side I worry if I might run into any issues since it's obviously been stored or sat for lengths of time. Any advice on this? For what it's worth the car looks immaculate inside and out, only issue was the battery had to be replaced recently since it had lost all of it's juice. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a great find....there are still some garage queens out there that are only drive on nice days and garaged all winter. Also could have been a late 08 sale. Check out this thread:

I'd feel bad for putting miles on it; other than that, nothing to worry about if everything is in good working order. I'd ask about the history of the car--find out the longest amount of time it sat between startups etc.

As long as he changed the oil, you're good to go. Would still do a full inspection on the motor.

It's not a Porsche it's nothing to worry about. My S2K among many others was stored every winter for 10 + years and runs like a champ.

My S2K has 52K miles on it. It was registered in Oct 01. That is 125 months of use or only about ~400 miles a month.

Don't worry so much
