Default Any difference between 2001 and 2002 for cai

Seems like all the Cold air intakes are for 2000 and 2001 s2000's ...is there any difference to a 2002 s2000...if i purchase one for aem for a 2001 will it fit my 2002. I thought there was really not big difference between the years except fot the obvious...glass rear window ..30 more watts...the clucth still sucks but thats another story;....Help i want to order my cai but i thought i'd double check with you guys!

There is not any difference. I ordered a Injen for the '00, '01, and it fit my 2002 just perfectly. Go for it, I'm sure you will enjoy it. And if you think it is hard to install, try installing the RM front frame cover. It is not that hard, but tedious getting the set screws in a hole that you can not see what you are doing in. But it looks great.

i think it's just that people haven't updated the pages. i once emailed someone asking if their product worked on the 2002 version and they said yea - they're all the same, he just never updated the date on the page. so it might be that, yet i might be wrong (hope not)

My understanding is that the Comptech CAI won't work on '02s because of the redesigned and relocated horn. It sits directly where the carbon fiber airbox of the Comptech intake would reside.

Talked to somebody at NOPI.com and they said that the AEM will fit on my 2002. When i ordered it i said it was a 2001 because if i use 2002 it won't come up....but after several pages it finally came up as AEM cold air intake for 00 to 02.
So i am good. "Station" thanks for the info because i was debating to get the comptech. But since it won't fit and is 100
dollars more....i'll stick with the AEM.

THIS BOARD RULES...WELL RUN AND VERY INFORMATIVE!

Thanks to all!

Hey Buckwheat! FYI I just ordered the Competh CAI and contrary to the above post there are NO fitment issues on the 02 however you must relocate a horn. These fitment issues have been addressed according to Comptech.

Yeah, if you call taking a hack saw to your new car being addressed.

According to Comptechs dowloadable instructions this is a bolt in CAI. No cutting or drilling required.

The second horn on the '02 might cause an issue for a CAI.

I see that Comptech has "addressed this issue" but I'm not sure what that means. You may have to move the second horn or something.
