Default Any nice fitting CF hoods?

After looking at several CF hoods at Fall Colors I sort of came to the conclusion that the hoods I have seen fit aweful. The gap between the hood and fender is so large it looks terrible. I didn't get a chance to ask who made the hoods I looked at, but my best guess is most are cheap VIS hoods. The gaps were so large, I believe most were 1/4"-3/8", that is simply too big that you can see the bolts for the fenders.

Are there any hoods on the markets that have a gap of 1/8" or less, basically like the stock hood?

cheers

Amuse, J's racing (first molding), mugen, cwest, mastergrade.. etc. You have to pay for fitment.

Wael, a lot of the fitment issues probably have to do with people not taking the time to properly fit the hoods on the cars. It's time consuming to fiddle with both sides and the front and most people just give up I guess.

^^^

This is very true. Although the few "premium" companies make high quality parts with excellent fitment. You can get good fitment from companies like Seibon as well and spend less money.

Anybody ever measure the stock gap on a stock hood? I'm curious to see what that's at compared to my Mugen.

I will measure the stock gap just to be sure I am not imagining things. What I am sure of was I could see the fender bolts with most of the aftermarket hoods, however I can't see them with the factory hood.

The real question I guess is, why is that so darn important?

cheers

Dan,

I don't believe you can see your fender bolts through the gap with your hood, right?

cheers

..I had a ViS on my RSX and fitment was perfect,A couple of my frineds has Vis as well and fitment was great,It really has to do with the installer..the difference is not so much on fitment issues but the weave on the CF.Spoon makes one of the best CF i have seen so far.
