Any Plastic to glass top conversion drawbacks?
I've noticed a lot of cars on the used car market these days that have had the plastic to glass top conversion done. Often times it is within a matter of months before the vehicle is offered for sale. Just curious if there are any drawbacks to this modification, maybe material for the top is a compromise from OEM spec and leaves the owner dissatisfied? Or is this a "modification/upgrade" done for purposes to make an easier resale (even though it can be a costly one)?

I believe the glass window is smaller than the plastic so a bigger blind-spot would be the biggest drawback of the glass window.
I am glad I got glass though

I converted mine a few years back, the large plastic window was nice, but you adapt to the small glass window. The one thing I do miss is being able to un zip the back window for the extra flow, but thats okay.

you could unzip the plastic window??? I had no clue!
Another member and I just did a complete frame/top swap for mine. I bought his 05 top and frame off him and I love it! I can actually see through the back window now!

Outside of your car, If you put your hand under flap where the rear window is, you should feel some foam rubber tape or a zipper. Once you remove the tape you will find some velcro inside of the car where the zipper is, you will have to seperate the velcro to unzip it.
