Default any reason not to get this steering wheel?

I know it is a knockoff and I am not going to even use the horn button so it will just look like a generic 320mm steering wheel. Just thought I would see if anyone has had any bad experience with a piece of shit like this?

If you need one, for 30 bucks if it is a POS your not out much money.
Who knows it might be decent quality.

No airbag = no way for me but if you trust your 30 dollar steering wheel to save your life then go for it.

Airbags don't do shlt. I had both of mine go off in a crash and they were more of a PITA than anything else. You taste airbag powder for at least a day after. How did so many generations survive without them? When they are standard equipment on a F1 car I'll use one . I have a quick release system and a streering yoke on my car.

it is for a track only car, so I am not too concerned about the look and airbags have to be disabled anyway...

Have you seen the statistics? They didn't survive.

Exactly...

Car safety has come a LOOOOOOOONG way over the years...

That was a very ignorant statement to make...

It's like bitching about Penicillin...
When people used to DIE over small infections, LOL.

So I take it you didn't die?

Comparing the safety of a 4000lbs lead sled with 6 feet between you and the front bumper that goes a MAX speed of 70mph vs. the probabilty of a 2700lbs car going 100+ MPH and being hit by a 5000lbs SUV is just ignorant.

At first cars didn't come with seatbelts, do you wear yours?
I assume you found some bias-ply tires and installed drum brakes?

BTW -- In a forumla1 event there are a max of 22 cars on the track at once (23 if the saftey car is out.) They are all going the same direction with no traffic lights, cross streets, oncoming traffic, pedestrians, etc. There are also no SUVs and no one shaving, drinking coffee, applying make-up, reading the paper or talking on their cell phone while driving. Hardly a comparison.

To the original poster, for a track car, why not give it a shot for $30. Good luck with it.
