Any regrets with buying your S2K?
Well I boughy my S2k about 2 weeks ago, and she was delivered on Tuesday. I LOVE her... I've driven about 200+ miles in 3 days, and I'm always opening the garage door to check on her... I love it.
But I'm already feeling a little regret.
1. The transmission is so nice. I drove my friend's 2000 Si Civic (pretty modded) tonight, and the transmission felt like a knife in a butter jar...
I'm only 17 and this S2k is my first car, and I honestly "wish" (think) I should have started lower, to appreciate such fine pieces more.
2. I've already heard so many rumors about people stealing my red seats... I'm still in the HS "racer/ricer" scene, and my car may be attracting too much attention (negative and positive).
But I just love the car so much...
Anyways, just wondering if any of you regret buying your S2k in ANY way... For reasons like mine, of because you wish you bought a 350/M3/STi etc. etc...
And to make it clear, I don't regret it enough that if I went back in time I'd do it any other way.

Wyatt...I can certainly see where you're coming from. I bought my S as a grad student (yes, I paid for it myself) and I still had a bit of the feeling you describe. That is until I made the decision to sell it (due to some unexpected changes in my world). I didn't expect to miss it as much as I do.
You'll get a lot of crap here for being 17 and driving an S. You're in a very fortunate situation that a lot of people will be jealous of or complain that you're spoiled. It's up to you whether you want to agree or disagree with them. If you agree, then get rid of it. Put the money in the bank, give it back (if it wasn't yours to begin with), or consider it a loan and start making a monthly payment on it.
The other choice is to be as absolutely mature as possible in this situation. Prove the nay-sayers wrong by NOT getting into a wreck, by learning how to handle the car carefully, etc.
Hell, I'm jealous!
You're fortunate, enjoy it, and watch out for haters and people who have sticky fingers. Don't regret it!
I had a 3000GT when I was a junior in high school in 95. Back then, even the principal admired the car. I was fortunate too... just keep good friends and don't make enemies! LOL A couple of times my car was almost keyed all around 'till a good friend saw the guy and confronted him.

. What model year did you buy anyway?
If you're talking about 'Red' seats (solid red), the it must be pre '04?. Gosh, I wish I would have had something even half as nice as an 'S' for my first car......I've got memories of a clunker 4-door comet
holy 17 yrs old and first car as a s2k...lucky bastard haha...i didn't get my first car til i was 20 and it was a 84 prelude..damn man but alot of ppl think i spoiled too..but i am 27 yrs old owning a 2003 s2 and a 2003 a4..all those yrs of hard work well paid off and not 1 regret i really love my rides
Just realize that you are one very lucky kid! My first car was a '90 Chrysler Lebaron sedan. Everything that could go wrong with a car happened to that one. Burned oil like crazy, a/c blew engine smoke into passenger compartment but didn't cool, only one of the electric windows worked. susupension was completely shot, headliner was hanging down about 6 inches, cats often times slept in the car because one of the windows would not go up so it smelled disgusting, paint was faded, transmission was shot and only had like 2 gears left, brakes grinded, blew large amounts of white smoke from tailpipe, no radio, windshield sprayers didn't work, it would randomly shut off usually when you were slowing down and there's more. My parents gave me that car when I turned 16 in June, and by November I just stopped driving and just caught the bus or got rides with friends. For a 16-year old kid, giving up driving is unheardof! That car was such a heap though! Anyway, eventually I saved up my own money and got a '99 Civic Si all on my own when I was 18. I loved that car. I had that for 2 years before it was stolen/destroyed. Now I'm 21 and I've moved up to an s2000! There really is something to be said about not having the best car at a younger age. I think it makes you appreciate things a little more. Soemtimes I think about how far I've come on my own. I'm not putting you down by any means, all I'm saying is APPRECIATE IT!
And to answer your question, no, I have absolutely no regrets!
