Wow - first of all thanks a lot for all the great replies!
I think I'll try the polish I still got at home on the S2k in order to remove the fine scratches that are so annoying. In case that doesn't work I'll consider ordering those famous Zaino products you recommend. What would you use as conservant? I haven't got the time to wash my car every day but I'll try to do it in accordance with the very good tips you offered me from now on (sounds quite tiresome, though).
As to Black: Its a C4. I tested the C2,C4,GT3 and TT on a special track. The difference between the C2 and C4 is noticable under severe conditions - I was so impressed by the handling in wet/slushy-conditions that I opted for the additional 4WD and PSM. The TT is quite similar to the C4 concerning the handling but has a lot more Power - same quiet travel though. The hard and noisy GT3 would have been my first choice but since I use the car for longer trips, promised to keep at least one 2+2seated car and don't drive on the track it was right out . So it came down to the choice between the C4 and the TT. Both cars are very quiet and unspectacular high-performers. Unlike the S2k I learned about by this time . I finally bought a C4 and used the excess-money to get the S2k. Otherwise I would have taken the TT. Driving the 911 very fast through twisties is a piece of cake and can get boring while it is really thrilling in the S2k. The old Porsche magic has faded a lot for me with the 996 series. Here is some data from my manual so you can see that the S2k really delivers optimum driving-performance at its price compared to the 911. I think the F-360 compares better to the S2k than any of the 996 Porsches.
I'll check back tommorrow. This certainly seems to be a real vault of knowledge. Thanks again!

Nachtmeister

Thank you so much for the compliments on our choice of car.

Go to www.s2ki.com and under FAQ; you will find information about polishes and car care. Many choices to decide what is best.

Thanks again, I chose the S2000 because I want the feel of a race car or go kart. I want to feel one with the road.

He does own both, yes. So if you own both I guess you have the right to compare.

But still... the pimp factor heavily, HEAVILY goes in favor of the 911 T. Carrera 4s are more common. Still nice.

The Honda S2000 does have a pimp factor... on a scale of 1 to 10... S2000 = 6

The new 911 Turbo = 9.

Modena = 10.

BMW M3 = 6.5

I can understand the C4 with psm would be a "piece of cake" to drive in the twisties. That 4 wheel power application, which varies front to back depending upon slip factors, not to mention Porsche having decades to tune the suspension just right, can really help that car get around corners pronto. Congrats on owning both C4 and S2K!

German is kind of like English, but some words are run together. Try pronouncing things and sometimes English words pop out.

examples:
mit = with
Motordiagramm = Motor Diagram
