Default any short drivers?

i know alot of people won't be able to relate with me, but there are any short drivers? i'm just 5'0" and the bucket seats are too deep! and I wished there was tilt on the steering wheel. Because i have to pull the seat all the way up, the steering wheel is like right in my face heh heh and i struggle to get in and out (because i have little space between the seat & the wheel).... and my blind spot is worse than anybody's i bet. i don't even bother looking out my back window....

anybody that can relate with me? i actually had a moment of regret because of this, but i've had this car one week and it's slightly ok....

yes i wear platform shoes, but it doesn't help that the bucket seats are so deep! putting a pillow is too tacky and TOO OBVIOUS

Raising the seat mounts is possible, where lowering them is pretty tough. I bet you can find a shop that will remount the seat an inch or so higher with spacers and longer bolts. It would be more comfortable for you, usable by most others, and reversible when you want to sell.

I'm 5'6" and also wish that the steering wheel tilted. Unfortunately, if I put my seat in the correct position relative to the pedals and my arm length, the steering wheel blocks a bit of my view of the tach.

As to your problems with ingress, egress I have a simple solution.

Every single time that I get in or out of the car, I slide my seat all the way back. This makes it so much easier and saves quite a bit of wear/tear on the seat bolsters.

At 4'11'', I have a pretty good idea how you are feeling. I have found that I can drive comfortably with the seat about four clicks back from the closest setting. I need to slide my rear a little bit forward to get the clutch to the floor, but it's not hard to do (and this is with tennis shoes on). I can drive three clicks back with no problems. I don't seem to have any trouble seeing over the dash and I see just fine out the rear view mirror. When I'm driving with the top down, the only thing people following me can see is my blonde ponytail blowing around (must look pretty funny). I just wish the car came with an option to disable the driver's airbag. I don't know how safe a deployed airbag will be for us shortys. My husband doesn't let me drive too often, but he did agree to let me use his username to post this note.

Hope this helps.

Try raising the seat using dlq04's techniques: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=28096

To traynspotting
I am 5'4 and with short legs and it was terrible to see over the hood. I modified the seat the first day I had it home. I raised the front 1inch and the rear 11/2 inches. It is perfect now. I posted an article (do a search) on how I did it. The only thing that was hard was finding out how much I need to raise it. I use some large spacers for a trail till I figured it out then bought some steel spacers and stainless steel bolts and it's perfect now. Good luck

MS jd racing! you can soooo relate with me! i WISH i was in the 5'4"-5'6" range!!! my left leg goes down a little too when i have to clutch in all the way...fortunately, i've only done it once where i didn't clutch all the way while shifting...

even though some people are my dream height, i'm glad i'm not the only one slightly unhappy with the seats! i'm going to my dealers tomorrow to find out if they can adjust the seat.... are there any girls who did raised the seats by themselves? if the cost to do it is WAY out of my league, i think i'm going to try to do it with everybody instructions on this board but now i'm getting worried with the steering wheel right in my face/neck/chest area....

traynspotting,

If you find that adjusting the seats are to difficult, I'd be glad to help you out. I live about 40 minutes away from you, but I wouldn't mind the drive since we all know what I'll be driving. I'm on summer break right now so I've got some free time.
