Default Any way to fix S2000 Steering Feel?

I am seriously thinking about getting an S2000. But in regards to steering feel, it feels a bit numb from what I am use to, and unfortunately I place steering feel as one of my highest priorities in a sports car.

I've heard that the 2.2L has 'tweaked' the electronically assisted steering to improve steering feel.

Can anyone provide their input regarding whether this was a significant change from the 2.0L versions.

Any other perceived improvements from the 2.0 to 2.2L would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks.

bodhi.

Compared to almost anything without power steering - I agree with bodhi.

A lot of that can be addressed with alignment but yes, overall, the steering feel in the S is less communicative than other sports cars.

I can't think of any stock car that has anywhere near as good steering-feel as the S2k (not that I've driven anyway....Miata, EVO, G35, countless other stuff). Are you sure you didn't just test-drive a broken one? My '02 steering feel is very precise and crisp and responds instantly. *edit* I see that I am in the minority here, but I still wouldn't change the feel. Each to their own

As much as I love everything about the car, when I first got, I was slightly disapointed in the non-tactile feel of the steering. I got used to it and didn't think much about it. Then I got my Eibach springs put on, and the feel of the car was dramatically improved, including the steering feel. I feel more in control of the car. I still have to get it aligned, so it will probably only get better. Great bang-for-the buck mod.

Yes, it is very precise, accurate, and responsive. That is different from transmitting the feel of the road to your hands.

255/40-17 Toyo RAs in front on a 17x9 wheel + an aggressive alignment + stiffer springs/shocks and a smaller diameter 330mm Sparco steering wheel do the trick just fine.
