Default to anybody with nitrous

I am interested in putting a nitrous system in my S2000. However, I understand nitrous systems about as much as I do women. I just want some information on nitrous systems, different types, NOSvsZEXvsVENOM, how-when to use, etc etc. I have no knowledge of nitrous but want to learn as much as possible. please post any knowledge you may have or links to useful sites. I appreciate your help in advance.

Try a search.

Make sure you have a competent installer.

-bump- I have a competent installer. I've found alot of information on nitrous systems but they all seem to be more like ads than what I'm looking for. Imagine a book called "the complete morons guide to a squeezing S2000" that's what I want

you aren't going to get that kind of response. searching through the threads, about any subject, people are going to sway to one manufacturer over another because of 1) the name/reputation, 2) someone/dealer/installer told them its good, 3) because they've used it before. hence, why you might be interpreting marketing sales ads.

flat out - there's only a small handful of S2000 owners on this board with nitrous kits. I'm not even sure if any of them are wet shots either. I would recommend against it, because its not "always on". But that's me. You will savour and save up the bottle for those special occassions and it just isn't the same. If you go out to a road course, which doesn't look like your intentions of doing - you will learn much more about the limits of this car before nitrous comes into play, and nitrous would have very little effect on a road course, unless there is a long straightaway and you are racing - which well.. that would be out of spec for any class I know of. Okay, I'll stop rambling now.

actually I was at Road Atlanta a couple weeks ago. road courses is where it's at for sure. by far the most fun I've ever had in a car. I'm not really big into drag racing. Esp. with the S2000. I dunno why I want nitrous. Can't afford a turbo yet and I guess I want something to put me over the top a little. I had a supercharged GSR and a Turbo type-R. I've never played with nitrous and want to give it a try. anybody here should feel free to post what they have and how they like it. this is just sort of a starting point. thanx

Well if it helps you I have a Zex dry kit, very simple to install and I had it dynoed. The HP w/50 shot of nos came to 50hp at the wheel and I only run the nos at drag meets (not very much ) The S is fast enough.
The kit retails for about $500.00.
pm me or call 770-907-8229 and I will try to answer any questions you have.

the ZEX kit is usually idiot proof. Might be a good idea. W/ our compression, I`d squeeze 50-60.

I was thinking Zex but after reading about Venom (about 1200 bucks) it peaked my interest. I'm not set on Venom but just curious. sounds interesting. Can't find much detail though.
-vtecvoodoo- out of curiosity what is your best run at the track?
would you recommend someone like me (novice) try nitrous for the first time on a car like an S2000. I'm also really hesitant because of supposed reliability problems. I wouldn't use it very often at all but I don't want to be totally scared that in gonna burn it up the first time I hit the button

if this is my only post that may have any significance at all, i will be a happy man. i really wouldn't recommend nosifying your s2000. as you said, you know next to nothing about nitrous and that is just asking for trouble when it comes to fine-tuning the nitrous on a $30k car. i think if you want a good nitrous experience with nitrous, go buy a beater 5.0 and stick a 150 shot on there. i really liked the nitrous on my car (yeah, it's a 90 celica), but i ended up being irresponsible with it and that lead to various blown head gaskets and related problems. but then again, two full seconds of the 1/4 time is very nice. just decide
which one you like more: a healthy engine or going fast for cheap.

Thing about it is...I'm kinda set on installing nitrous on the ride. I've always wanted to but never got around to it. My other cars were fast enough . I really want to try it and I will probably almost never use it. I know it sounds really stupid but I think I want it...just cause... No explanation really. Also, I think if you are smart about it, it wouldn't be that hard an your engine. I would probably only use it on the track at about a 50 shot. I would maybe use about a 25-30 shot on the street every now and then if I had to( if I got the Venom system so I can switch the jet on the fly, in the car) Also, I have a V-AFC so I'm thinking I can fatten up the air/fuel ratio because I know some of the long term affects of nitrous are caused by the fact that it's so dry. I do run synthetic oil and my car is very well maintained mechanically. I really want to give it a try. I'll keep you guys posted. Again, any info you guys have is greatly appreciated.
