Default Anyone with 4.3 gears?

Has anyone installed these gears? If so, how are they for street use? Any noise issues?

If you can find anyone to install the gears I would think you would have any number of Miata people willing to make the swap.

They come with the 4.3s and many of the boosted people would like the 4.10s.

Of course you would have to educate them to the fact that the Honda and Mazda gearsets are one and the same

i don't think you'll really get that big of a performance gain going from a 4.10 to a 4.30

if you can get someone to swap with you and you're not actually spending several hundreds of dollars to purchase them then it's worth it. go with something more aggresive if you're going to cough up the cash.

just my $0.02

big $ for little rewards if only going to a 4.3

4.44, 4.57 or 4.77 or supposedly a 5.1 from J's??

If you match up a MY2004 transmission with a 4.3 gear set, you get nearly the net effect of a 4.6 for gears 1-4 and bit less than 4.3 for gears 5-6 as compared to the MY2000 transmission. I should have it fully installed later this month.

I expect that this will give me very good track performance with little effect on highway driveability.
he has a MY2000 though..... even bigger $ if he swaps out his tranny and rear gears.....

at that point it would be much easier to just go with the 4.57's.

No this is incorrect you do not get a net 4.6 gear. The MY04+ tranny gives you ~4% increase in gearing from the secondary reduction. With a 4.10 rear gear this gives you a equavalent to 4.26

4.10 *.1039 = 4.26

with a 4.30 gear you have

4.3 * 1.039 = 4.47

Your net gearing will be equal to a 4.47 NOT a 4.6
