Anyone actually used fix-a-flat?
For some time now I have considered ditching the spare for a can of fix-a-flat for numerous reasons including the weight, valuable amplifier space wasted, and the fact that you can't even use the spare on the rear. A chinese fire drill changing tires alongside the road to get the spare to the front is not my idea of an evening well spent...
So, does the stuff work? Does it cause a huge mess or damage/balance issue to the tire? Is there any reason that we should not just trade the 30 pounds of spare and jack for a can of this stuff??? Real life experiences would be appreciated.

after working for a few years at a tire shop back in college, I can say... I can't stand this stuff. so if you do use it, make sure to tip the tire guy very well.
its combustable, its messy, it gets all over everything - once the tire is off the rim. yes, it does work, but I know how to change a tire in approximately two minutes longer than it takes someone else to use the fix-a-flat. (not being egotistical at all, but that's being realistic)

Only in an extreme emergency and even then I'd think twice because that stuff is quite nasty. It will get you where your going but it's no substitute for the spare tire. If you do need to use it, get the tire fixed ASAP when you get near a tire shop. The liquid throws the tire way out of balance so it may not even be very safe even for short term needs.
It only works on small punctures, it makes a mess of the wheel, and it holds for limited time / heat. I used it once years ago (not an S2000, and maybe it is better now) and will not count on it again.
The last time two times I had to use a spare it would have done no good. A large gash from a broken spark plug, and multiple large punctures from a crashed road block (I did not hit it, some guy in the ditch did).

Fix a Flat works great. If you have a flat, are you going to drive at " high speeds?" It gets you where you need to go. Yeah, you should tell the tire guy you used it; apparently it is somewhat explosive. I have used it many times on vechiles and have not noticed any problems. Beats changing tires twice. I will have a flat bed tow if I ever get a flat, however!
