Hi there...I've been going at this too...my plan is to take out the coin holder (piece directly in front of the armrest) and stick a 1987 Accord clock in there...
Not the most convenient place but more convenient than on the always-hidden radio...also, it's amber and the face is the same size as the slot so it's not intrusive enough to take away from the look of the interior--which I like
However, I'm still waiting for Rick or Muz to make a direct replacement
Scroll down to near the bottom to see the stick on stuff. I don't know how well the glow works - if street lights, etc is enough to "charge" it or not.
The thermo I have on the bike (with a black case and face) is VERY sun-sensitive, so I may not bother with one for the S2000 if I go this route.
I found a clock/external temp thing at a site in Britain. It has a 12v lead for ilumination. No idea if they sell/ship to the US and the site also does not have the dimensions.
You want giant? And glow in the dark? No problem! The headlights behind you will light this baby up real good.

Ok, Ok! I know, this one's getting a bit old but you left it wide open for me.
So seriously, this is what I have and where I "used" to have it. It's one of those digital clock/thermometer displays with night illumination in this eerie green color. Push the button on the right and it stays lit for about 3-4 seconds. I have the temp probe between the sheet metal just in front of the driver's door.
I didn't like it up high like that. It was too obtrusive so I installed in the radio door.
That looks nice (the digital one, not the analog). Do you know the model and who makes it? I know, you probably got it at "Canadian Tire" or some place that is not around here

Nice...is that actually *in* the radio door or just stuck on it?
It's IN the door. Otherwise, the door won't open fully. I dremeled out a hole and glued it in the hole, ran the wire out the back and under the dash. The radio door panel is not that expensive so if and when I ever sell the car, I'll just replace the whole panel.
Yes, it's from Canadian Tire - sorry!
It runs on a AAA battery and even if you use the light a couple times a night, it'll still last a year or two.
