Default Anyone compared an S2000 and Boxster in the twisties?

I finally got a chance to drive an S2000 last weekend (only for about ten miles though) and yesterday got a chance to test drive a Boxster (for a much longer period of time.)

Neither really had a gut wrenching, rocket launch acceleration, but I loved the S2000's sound in VTEC, though the Boxster certainly had a great engine sound as well.

What I could not compare, however, was performance in the twisties. For those in the Denver area I took the Boxster up Lookout Mountain road and it tracked like it was on rails and took hairpins skateboard-flat. Even my wife, who is not a car person, was instantly amazed and impressed.

Anyone know how the S2000 would have performed on a similar type of road? Since it's about 30 minutes from the Honda dealer that did let me test drive their used MY2001 S2000, there's zero chance I will actually find out on a test drive of my own.

Thanks in advance...

I think road and track just did a recent comparo... and the S2000 whomped the boxster S in everything in the turn segment. It was the same driver for all cars. S2000 had better lap time, higher speed in the corners, shortest time in the corners, and least amount of lateral acceleration as well. Hope that info helps. (it was also compared to, i think, the SLK and the Audi TT... which the S2000 also out-performed)

Check out evo magazine [http://www.evo.co.uk/]. There's an article in the archives comparing both cars.

Here is the Road and Track comparision, but I believe it is with the Boxster not the Boxster S.

I remember reading an article in which the reviewer was a guy who owned and raced a Boxter. He turned in a faster lap time (in a slolam) the first time he drove an S2000 than he could equal in a Boxter. He was impressed.

Try this:

Following a Boxster at the track movie.

Watch the Boxster in the left-hander.
