I am just wondering if there has been anybody who has been able to do better than MSRP on getting a new S2000?
I have found a dealer that is willing to sell me a brand new yellow S2000 as long as I finalize the deal by end of month tomorrow.
Can I pinch them anymore if they are so desperate to sell by the end of the month?
I have to go there in an hour, so any quick replies would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

A local dealer in Memphis offered me one on the floor for MSRP. This past Saturday 01/27/01, I countered with $31,000 and he turned it down. I'm probably going to call him back this afternoon 01/30/01 and see if he's ready to take it.
I bought my 2001 black on black for $32,300.00 which is about $400.00 under MSRP. I purchased it from Bob Barbour Honda in Greenville, NC w/ about 10.5 miles on it. It also came with floor mats, wheel locks and Titanium Shift knob at n/c. I'm not sure the dealer intended for these options to be 'thrown in' and maybe that's why the keep calling me. Just haven't had time to call them back yet.

I got mine a few weeks ago for under MSRP. Dealt with 20 to 30 dealers across the Midwest. Only two would even talk under MSRP and only one accepted my offer. I followed wtromb's recommendation and bought it at Grand Honda in Elmhurst, IL. If you are willing to travel and are flexible on color you may have a shot. I was able to save quite a bit.
However, if I was able to find exactly what I wanted locally at MSRP, I would have bought it.

yidal8- nice job! share your secret for all future buyers!
and to anser the question- I don't think the end of the month is a hard and fast rule. I ordered mine on March 1 for MRSP, but with the mats and the CD changer free. Good luck. BTW it's worth every penny, even if it's at full MSRP.

Where in Memphis did you go? Covington Pike or Performance? Last fall when I bought mine, the sales manager at Performance wouldn't even talk to me for less than $37.5k. He has a well earned reputation in this town as an a** hole. I don't know why the dealership hangs on to him. I ended up purchasing in St. Louis. I hope it was him, on his knees begging for a sale. I hope you buy the car, I drove one but am still waiting for mine to come in March. PM me and let me know where you are. I have only seen a couple of stooks around here.

yidal8: I did not know that you got that car. I had read your post about the decision between yr 2000 vs. 2001. Coincidentally, I also bought a 2000 White S2000 to be picked up this Sat from a dealer in Long Island. I am lucky. White is very hard to find.
[green]I sort of ended up under MSRP. They made a mistake with my out the door price. Turns out it was about 800 low. So either I get an extended warranty for free or some really low priced options or the car well below MSRP. I didn't care.[/green]
