I noticed this w/i the first year. It looks like the enamel is lifting from the metal. Anyone else?

It happens a lot to all Hondas/Acuras. Its not really paint but some sort of plastic coating.

That's not a "Honda" problem. It's very common in a lot of cars I've seen through the years. I agree with Spankee, I don't think that's paint. Aside from looking tacky, it's not a big deal. It shouldn't cause you any problem for another 12 to 15 years when the metal corrodes from the battery acid.

Has happened to all my Hondas.

Have replaced mine with a Neuspeed job for that added bling ;-)

Same thing happened to me. I just removed all of the black coating, sanded the metal piece (so now it looks brushed) and reinstalled it. I'm going to get around to painting it black one of these days.

Ooo, that looks good. What is that and where did you get it?

Thanks!

Edit: Why the manufacturers (all of them, not just Honda), can't install something like this instead of the cheap little item they're using now, is beyond me. Ok, so they save $0.02 per vehicle.
